Untitled
[edit]This page appears to be copied from [1] I'm goinng to blank this page for the time being unless whoever added it has permission to use this text. G-Man 13:33, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- The procedure for copyvios is listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 13:35, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)
The copyvio seems to have been introduced by User:SR fan here [2] Perhaps this should be reverted to its pre copyvio state?. G-Man 13:54, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- I have rewritten the text completely, attempting to phase out the POV stuff. Does this satisfy the copyvio situation? Jdcooper 16:17, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Clean up tag
[edit]- I added the clean-up tag because the article is horribly POV at the moment. It reads like a fan website. I don't know how connected that is to the copyvio issue, but either way it needs a lot of attention. Jdcooper 14:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Alternate name origin?
[edit]It's probably nothing, but I came across the following in A Confederacy of Dunces: "Patrolman Mancuso's olive skin flushed lightly, except in limited areas scratched by the Peace Party auxilliary. There it was simply red." 161.11.130.249 18:20, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- I imagine the phrase "simply red" has been used in various books, best to stick to the reasoning cited by Hucknall himself. Jdcooper 18:58, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Buzzcocks
[edit]i deleted that the Buzzcocks formed after this gig, as it is not correct - Buzzcocks formed after travelling to see the pistols in london, and were the organisers of the manchester free trade hall gig —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.56.54 (talk) 19:20, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Reference Band Origins
[edit]It should be pointed out that Hucknall himself has stated that he was not actually in attendance at the 'legendary' Sex Pistols gig at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester. Though it is possible that his friend & bandmate in the Frantic Elevators Neil Moss (Sometimes credited as Neil Smith for 'Tax' purposes) was in attendance.
Hucknall did attend a later Pistols gig (video evidence exists to attest this.)
He (Hucknall) goes on to say that it would have been good if the story were true but it is merely a heavily embelished rumour.

Band break up in 2009
[edit]I understand that Simply Red is planning to break up in 2009. But until that actually happens, the group is still together. Therefore in the infobox it needs to remain "1984-Present". At the very least, what happens if they change their mind and decide to keep going? What happens if someone sees that in January 2009, but they don't actually break up until June? Anyway, the heart of the problem is that by putting anything buy "Present" in there, you are stating that the group has already broken up when they have done no such thing as of today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mantisia (talk • contribs) 13:11, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
David Hepworth comment on OGWT dvd
[edit]He says he was sent to film them recording in rural Holland in 1985, and was told not to point the camera at the bass player as they were sacking him on Monday. As a result Hepworth never really liked them. Was he bullshitting then?

Unexplained Changes to Simply Red-related articles
[edit]Just a heads up, but I note that anonymous editor 2804:14D:7842:AAD4:D831:C223:B310:CB96 made several unexplained changes to dates in Simply Red-related articles. No explanation was given, and those were the editor's *only* contributions. You decide for yourself how likely it is that all these changes were made in good faith by an inexperienced user or that they were attempted misinformation vandalism...
The user in question has been warned here.
